Research on Poverty and Health

How Poverty Harms Health: Evidence and Solutions for the Yukon was a 2025 research project I led for the Yukon Anti-Poverty Coalition. The project explored how poverty and poor health reinforce one another and what policy solutions could help break this cycle in the Yukon.

I reviewed Yukon and international literature, analysed existing local data, and identified gaps in the territory’s evidence landscape. I also translated scattered data into clear narratives to support public understanding and policy decision-making.

The project concluded that the Yukon needs stronger basic-needs-supporting policies to improve population health and economic outcomes, and that policy-oriented data collection is essential for progress.

The full report and executive summary will be available soon on the Yukon Anti-Poverty Coalition’s website.
